Royal Pump Room Museum

Step into Harrogate’s spa heritage, a North Yorkshire Council cultural venue; the Royal Pump Room Museum. We are housed within an iconic historic landmark and home to the strongest sulphur wells in Europe.

Explore the growth of the town from the discovery of its mineral springs, through to its heyday as an opulent centre for wellness, and the continuation of spa health treatments into the 20^th Century. See our wonderful collection of costume, jewellery, social history, and antiquities, shown within a reimagined Victorian street and the beautifully restored 1842 Pump Room space.

By car

There is no on-site parking for visitors. There is 3-hour on street parking available on Swan Road. A parking disc must be displayed. There is one designated accessible parking bay available near to the Museum.  

By train

The Museum is a 15-minute walk from Harrogate railway station, with direct services from Leeds and York. 

By bus

The Museum is a 15-minute walk from Harrogate bus station. Local bus services stop close to the Gallery, including routes X6, 6, X6A (White Hart) and 3, 24, the 36, S36 (Royal Hall).
